Experts and enterprises of the belt conveyor industry gathered in Tai'an, discussing the new quality of industry performance

On May 11-13, 2024, the annual event of the General Meeting and Council of the China Heavy Machinery Association "Belt Conveyor 2024" was held at the foot of Taishan Mountain. At this meeting, under the slogan “do not stop there and rise to the top,” 7 objectives for the development of the association were put forward related to the high-tech, intelligent and environmentally friendly transformation of the belt conveyor industry. The meeting was attended by local government leaders, as well as experts, scientists and representatives of the conveyor belt industry, more than 300 people in total.

In the afternoon of May 11, the 11th and 2nd meeting of the council of the Belt Conveyor branch took place. At the meeting, the Work Report and Financial Report for 2023 were reviewed and a decision was made to submit them to the General Meeting of Members. The list of new members in 2024 and the list of members of the chapter's Technical Expert Group were reviewed. At the same time, the representatives discussed the director's proposal in detail.

On May 12, the general meeting of the Belt Conveyor Branch was held, the morning meeting was chaired by the general secretary of the Belt Conveyor Branch of the China Heavy Machinery Association, Zhang Rongjian. With the majestic national anthem playing, all the participants were shocked and watched together as this glorious moment was born. Deputy Chairman of the CPC of Tai'an City, Yuan Jiuban, took part in the meeting and made a speech. He spoke about the development of the mining and construction industries in Tai'an, and welcomed entrepreneurs to cooperate and exchange with local enterprises to jointly promote the development of the industry. Mr. Zhang Yuan, Vice Chairman of LIBOR Heavy Industry Science and Technology Co. Jing Xiaobo, executive vice president of the China Heavy Machinery Association, gave a speech fully confirming the branch's work last year. He put forward seven proposals for the department's work: improve political position, strengthen scientific research, innovation and enterprise, strengthen standards management, actively participate in standardization and revision, strengthen integrity system construction, strengthen international exchanges and cooperation, exit, enter, strengthen human resource construction , work well across the four services (government, members, industry and society), and play the role of bridge and connector.

Li Ping, Chairman of the Belt Conveyor Branch, gave a comprehensive review of the branch's work in 2023, analyzed the industry's current development status and major problems, proposed that the industry throughout the country promote the strategy of new industrialization, large-scale equipment upgrade as a helping hand, carry out industrial technology upgrading, and also identified the key objectives of the Association. Executive Deputy General Secretary Yang Jun, on the other hand, reported on the branch's financial performance in 2023.

At the special reporting session, Wang Jisheng, vice president and general secretary of the China Heavy Machinery Association, made a report on the situation and development prospects of the heavy machinery industry. He presented the overall picture of the development of the heavy machinery industry in 2023, and also made suggestions for achieving the high-quality development of industry enterprises in terms of national strategy, market opportunities, industry development chain security, industry pain points and industry development areas that require attention.

In turn, Su Busin, business director of the Metallurgical Industry Publishing House, made a report “A New Path for High-Quality Development of the Ferrous Metallurgy,” in which he analyzed in detail the problems and opportunities currently facing the ferrous metallurgy industry. Wang Zhixiong, Assistant Secretary General and Director of the Department of the Engineering Technology Development Fund and the Center for Energy Saving and Resource Utilization of Mechanical Engineering, spoke about the national policy for selecting and promoting energy-saving and carbon-neutral technologies and equipment in the industrial sector. He said that with the further deepening of industrial energy saving and green development, "double carbon" goal of further promotion, industrial energy saving technologies and equipment selection and promotion of the main role of the work will further emphasize the promotion of the use of advanced energy saving technologies and equipment not only to achieve energy efficiency to improve security, but also for the use of renewable energy and other low-carbon energy to provide conditions for equipment, this is the industrial sector. It is also technical support for low-carbon and zero-carbon transformations in the industrial sector. Under the guidance of the new development concept, governments at all levels will actively use policy instruments to promote energy-saving technologies and build a green system for deep development. Dr. Chen Hang from Liaoning University of Engineering and Technology gave a talk on "Macro and micromechanical characteristics and energy consumption mechanism of steel cord rubber conveyor belt", in which he gave an in-depth explanation and research on the energy consumption mechanism and energy-saving technology of rubber conveyor belt. Mr. Zhang Yuan, Vice Chairman of LIBOR Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd., presented in detail the key technological research and application of intelligent energy-saving long-distance belt conveyor system, which provided new ideas for technological progress in the industry.

In addition, during the meeting, Mr. Zhang Yanjun, Deputy Secretary General of the China Heavy Machinery Association, read out the decision on the recruitment of belt transport technical experts and presided over the issuance of the letter of appointment.

On the afternoon of May 12, the meeting moved into a session of exchange of views and discussion. This connection of Tai Heavy Group with Wise Power Equipment Co. Ltd., Shandong Xiangtong Rubber and Plastic Technology Co., Ltd. and other industry representatives took the stage to speak, sharing their latest belt conveyor research and application examples.

The meeting also saw the announcement of the 2024 Conveyor Belt Chapter's new members and the presentation of plaques to the new members. Weng Shixi, chief engineer of Harbin Bearing Manufacturing Co, Ltd, spoke on behalf of the new members.

The conference has rich content, such as sharing the industry situation, but also sharing technical knowledge; both the conveyor belt industry includes pain points, but also the summary of the industry analysis report, called a feast for the industry. Representatives said that this meeting not only provides a platform for industry colleagues to network and learn, but also injects new impetus into the future development of the conveyor belt industry.
