To ensure timely delivery of products to customers, production at Shandong Shankuang Conveyor Drum Workshop runs smoothly and efficiently. Several batches of drums have completed the processing cycle and are awaiting final inspection and storage. Being the main transmitting elements of the belt conveyor system, all technological operations are performed efficiently under the strict supervision of personnel in compliance with both production deadlines and high product quality.
Processing of raw materials begins with precise cutting. Workers inspect each sheet of high-quality steel piece by piece, rejecting pieces with surface corrosion, impurities or uneven mechanical properties. High-quality raw materials are supplied to CNC machines for precise cutting to specified design dimensions. After cutting, the characteristics of each element are checked step by step, the edges of the parts are carefully processed with a special tool to remove burrs and sharp edges. This ensures dimensional accuracy and smooth edges of the workpieces, creating a reliable basis for subsequent forming operations.
The cut steel sheets are supplied to the stage of forming and welding the drum body. Operators slowly roll the sheets on special sheet bending machines in accordance with technological standards, gradually controlling the roundness using templates to prevent ovality and radius deviations. After forming, the joints are precisely aligned and sectional welding is used. After each welding section, the welding slag is immediately removed, and the seams are carefully inspected for uniformity and tightness. Any defects, such as small pores and slag inclusions, are eliminated immediately, which guarantees the structural strength and tightness of the drum body.
Upon completion of welding, a comprehensive cleaning of the surface from rust and contaminants is carried out. First, metal splashes and slag residues are removed from the inner and outer surfaces of the drum body by mechanical grinding, then shot blasting is performed. It completely removes the oxide layer, corrosion and foreign contaminants, while simultaneously increasing the surface roughness. This creates optimal conditions for subsequent assembly of the shafts and reliable adhesion of the paintwork.
The processing and assembly of the shaft heads are carried out under precise control. Shaft blanks are pre-hardened and tempered to improve complex mechanical properties, providing high toughness and load-bearing capacity during operation. Heat-treated shafts are processed on lathes with high precision. Specialists monitor the accuracy of the shaft journals and the perpendicularity of the stepped surfaces, regularly checking the dimensions with control devices to eliminate deviations. Next, the keyways are milled, the walls and edges of the grooves are carefully polished with files to remove burrs.
Before assembly, the mating surfaces of the shaft heads and the drum body are thoroughly cleaned, and special glue is evenly applied. The shaft heads are accurately installed at both ends of the housing and tightly fixed with technological devices. After polymerization of the glue, bearings and sealing elements are mounted. Lubricant is applied to the inner rings of the bearings for smooth rotation, and the seals fit tightly into the gaps, preventing dust and moisture from entering.
The final stage is surface treatment and quality control. The drum body is cleaned again and a wear-resistant anti-corrosion coating is evenly applied to it. The spray angle is constantly adjusted to ensure complete surface coverage and uniform layer thickness. After the coating dries, fine-grained sandpaper removes small irregularities, giving the product a neat and smooth appearance.
During quality control, each drum is checked individually: the condition of the welds and the integrity of the paint coating are assessed. The products are rotated to check the smoothness of rotation and the absence of extraneous noise, and the reliability of the connection of the shaft heads with the housing is monitored. Engineers conduct periodic spot checks to ensure each batch of finished products meets approved quality standards.
The production workshop harmoniously combines the sounds of operating equipment and tools. Workers are attentive to the details of the technological process, strictly follow all operations, ensuring high quality products thanks to professional skill. The company fully guarantees the timely shipment of quality drums to customers and strengthens its capacity to fulfill contractual obligations.
