Coal power plant project in Pakistan
The company has responded positively to the call of the Belt and Road and acquired national strategic development projects of the Belt and Road, including Brazil's PAMP Power Plant, Pakistan's Hub Power Plant, Hub Wharf, Indonesia's Kalten, Jawa Tengah, Ludian Electric Java Power Plant, Serbian Kostolac-B power plant, Dubai Hassyan power plant in the UAE, etc. All these projects are characterized by greater impact, greater complexity in project technologies, high quality requirements, compliance with European and American standards, multilateral supervision, etc., which has laid a solid foundation for Shankuang to occupy the mid- and high-end product market and introduce new and old kinetic energy conversion, conversion upgrading, and realize high-quality development.
The Hub coal power plant project is one of 51 cooperation agreements signed between China and Pakistan during President Xi Jinping's visit to Pakistan in April 2015. It refers to major energy projects that should be primarily implemented and actively promoted within the framework of the Belt and Road and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, with a total investment of US$2 billion. The project is located in the Hub region, Balochistan, in southwest Pakistan, and the construction mainly includes 2 sets of 660 MW supercritical coal plants and auxiliary equipment, as well as one dedicated coal berth. Once the project is completed and operational, it will supply 9 billion kWh of electricity annually and meet the electricity needs of 4 million families. The Hub Coal-fired Power Station is developed by a subsidiary of State Power Investment Corporation Limited, China Power International Development Limited and Pakistan Hub Power Co., Ltd. Built to strict environmental standards and with equal emphasis on economic benefits and environmentally friendly effects, the project incorporates many advanced technologies.
Shandong Shankuang Machinery Co., Ltd. took over the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of the conveyor belt, large steel structure and other products in the project.
